ZZR250 front brake light issues

Discussion in 'Bling and Appearance' at netrider.net.au started by kransky.dan, Nov 19, 2008.

  1. Hi all,
Riding home the other night and a friendly driver said tail light is out.
Replaced today (hopefully globe works) but also noticed that when squeezing the front brake on the bake light doesnt come on.

When starting to squeeze the brake it flashes a little and in the right position it will stay on.
Problem: when the light is on the brake isnt engaged, when the brake is engaged the light isnt on.

    Any ideas?

    thanks guys and girls!
  2. could be the micro switch that turns the light on is dirty.. can you hear a little click when you pull the lever ?. take it out and give it a bit of a clean. try to tes run with it out.. (switch not bike) if its still playing silly buggers it might be cactus so try to use just the plug with a bridge of wire. use a multimeter to get the right colour wires to join.. might just be a bung switch in the end
  3. thanks for the reply.

where would i find the micro switch?
Is it the small fuse looking device near the tail light connector?

  4. up the front at the lever.. will take a bit of dicking around to get it out.
