ZZR 250 running in period

Discussion in 'New Riders and Riding Tips' started by Wazzr250, Nov 21, 2004.

  1. Hi again.

I was wondering about my new zzr-250 running in period. From memory it says 600kms before going over 4000rpm. I've sinned and had it at 6000 rpm a few times, especially when travelling in 80kph zones. Is the occasional few minutes at 6000rpm going to have a negative impact on the running in of the motor? Dumb question but if I don't ask, I'll never know :? Thanks heaps!

  2. no. It will be fine.

    Follow what the manufacturer suggests.

You can go over a little, be sure to keep it away from the redline though.
  3. My 600 said under 5000 for 1600km, but that was it.
  4. yer I wasn't sure if pumping it 2000 rpm more than the manual says would really be a big deal or not... I mean it's obviously nowhere near redlining it.
