ZZR-250 battery charge issue

Discussion in 'Technical and Troubleshooting Torque' started by zukboy, Apr 10, 2012.

  1. Hi riders

I've got a 99 ZZR 2fiddie. had it since jan this year, been running without dramas. Lately though its having issues with starting. When i crank it in the morning it starts first go no worries but throughout the day it runs of of juice. ( this is after riding for 45 min )

I don't understand where to start and any help would be appreciated. I think the likely culprit the battery, but i dont understand that if the battery is gone, how is it always starting first time in the morning, does that mean its holding charge?

is there a easy way to test the battery without taking it to a auto sparkie ?

  2. take the battery to a place like batteryworld, most specialist shops will test for free (or buggerall $)
starting good int eh morning but not the arvo would suggest it's heat related rather than power. i'd be looking at the starter circuit
  3. Can you describe how it is struggling? Is it cranking slower or is it just more reluctant to fire?
