  1. I got quotes for 2 potential bikes on my 'may buy' list today.

    kwaka z1000 full comp, $1000
    kwaka z750 full comp, also $1000!!! :?

the cust service guy said they are both in the same category?!

    wtf :p

a litre bike in the same category as a 750

anybody else had the same experience? ie maybe a gsxr1000 costing same as gsxr750 to insure?
  2. Hubby has 2 gsxr750's. He had a quote for $2400 for in sydney, they said because they are R model's there more prone to be stolen. So get that one. I would hate to think what a 1000 would be.
But I don't think your quotes are to bad.
    Cheers Lou
  3. you would probably expect a small saving between the two, but not necessarily 25%. I guess the insurers figure either bike will result in a similar sized claim, e.g. following a drop rather than a total loss theft, so charge the same premium.

Still, $1,000 seems expensive. I shopped around on my viffer this year and got it for $440 odd from memory vs $680 odd from Western QBE (the $440 was via an insurance broker).
  4. So who is the underwriter?
