Yoshimura TRS slip on exhaust

Discussion in 'Modifications and Projects' at netrider.net.au started by Pedro78, Sep 4, 2009.

  1. Hi,

    Just after some advice.
I’m looking at getting a Yoshimura TRS slip on exhaust for my 02 F4i.
At this point in time I can’t afford to get a power commander or a tune.
Some threads I’ve seen say that the exhaust alone will be fine and other have said that it will cause flat spots or poor performance in the lower ranges.
Just wondering what peoples experiences are with this?

  2. I heard the same things, but when I installed an Akrapovic full system on my Gix (that previously had a Yoshi slip-on) the performance and responsiveness improved immediately. The timing seemed to be a bit out, and it ran a bit rough without a tune.

That said, it probably depends on the specific combination of bike and can, then add factors like engine age and riding style etc etc etc...
