Yoshi pipe for a 05' CBR RR - remapping required?

Discussion in 'Modifications and Projects' at netrider.net.au started by Slider, Aug 20, 2006.

  1. Hi all,

I was wondering if the installation of a Yoshi RS-5 pipe on a 05 CBR RR requires the engine to be remapped.
I have heard from some that remapping is required while others have said that the bike will virtually remap itself???

    Which one is correct? :?

  2. Ok modern ECU is 32 bit and will remap itself for muffler and filters. if you do full system must remap. But for optimum performance fit some K&N airfilters and get a PC111 and remap done. But if you want to leave it it should be fine. Just take note if it blows black smoke after a good rev or if is backfiring, as this will be overfuelling which means you need to get remapped..
