Discussion in 'General Motorcycling Discussion' at netrider.net.au started by vim16v, Jul 2, 2007.

  1. Well.. like many other riders have posted before me, I did the deed and upgraded my trusty VTR250 to a CBR600RR..

Competely different riding postions but I feel comfortable and confident.
Lucky the w/e weather in Sydney allowed for some decent riding.. But my wrists certainly felt it..

Look forward to seeing fellow riders on the road.. Be safe

  2. Dude that's awesome, nice buy.
  3. Congratulations mate. No doubt you will have plenty of fun roads ahead of you.
  4. Whoa, it certainly is brand new!

Those reflectors are still on it, so wot? like... 4 minutes old?
  5. Very nice!!
Did you consider any other 600s or just the honda?
  6. congrats!
    how much did you pay?
i had to pay $16k otd at Action parra back in March
  7. I demand a review!

    Congrats on the upgrade!
  8. Very nice.

    Have fun!
  9. *drools*

but why must they always be red?
  10. Awesome bike, have fun, ride safe....

You'll get used to the sore wrists.
  11. great looking bike! love the colour...
did you test ride any other bikes before going with the honda? and what was the deciding factor in choosing the CBR?
  12. oh thats a terrible thing to say, don't you mean you will get used to the aggressive riding postion and in time it will stop hurting? :p
  13. mmmmm new bike...
I did the same thing a few weeks ago, goodbye VTR hello CBR.
    Night. And. Day.

Be careful, I testrode a 600 too and it had plenty of cojones!
  14. Slick ride Vim, congrats! :)
  15. Very nice indeed.

    Congratz on the new purchase.:)
  16. Thanks riders for the comments.
Honestly, I had a bias for Hondas (other being a S2000). I really liked the under seat exhaust design and I fit well only being 5"6.

I read a lot of positive reviews of the CBR, including older ones. Being relatively new to bikes I went for the safe bet.
Plus I was offered a trade in deal on a new one not to be passed. <16k

Sure, some have said you have to rev it for pace, but revs suits my liking for riding / driving..
  17. Congrats Vim, velly sexyful bike

You'll get used to the position in no time, I had a mega sore wrist after the first long ride on my new baby, but it's getting better each time :) (try tucking your elbows in a little so your hand is straight with your arm)
  18. Nice ride Vim. Enjoy.
  19. I'm about to upgrade too.
Put my money down on a Gsxr750.
But I wont start a new thread on it. . . . not til I actually have it.
I test rode the '07 CBR600 and pretty much loved it. But for not much more money I decided on more displacement as I will do a bit of interstate travel and need extra cubes.

    Nice bike!
  20. Yeah was quite surprised how short the gearing is on the CBR.
At times on the freeway I went to upshift only to find I was already in 6th..

Oh well, it just makes more noise..
