Yammy XV1600 battery removal

Discussion in 'Technical and Troubleshooting Torque' at netrider.net.au started by dags260, Dec 9, 2008.

  1. Gday, mate of mine has an 03 XV1600, no owners manual and battery is dead flat, cant even get lights on instruments. can anyone tell me how to get the seat off to access the battery so i can charge or replace it? there is a spot for open on the ignition switch but it doesnt help remove the seat (unless its run by a solenoid)
    any help is appreciated.

  2. Most bike seats are either a key RH side somewhere near the pillion pegs and this removes the whole seat (one peice seats) or solo seats can be removed by lifting the rear corners of the riders seat and undoing the hex or phillips head screws ,some have one at the front of the seat..
  3. most do yeah....not this one apparently
  4. got it sussed. i was turning the igniton key wrong apparently.
