No doubt about that, VVP. That wasn't my point, though. Airbags have been known to go off in suituations when the occupant of the vehicle was in no danger of hitting the steering column or anything else - such as hitting a kangaroo or guidepost, or when the vehicle has been rear-ended. In some instances this results in a broken nose when no injury would otherwise occur.
