Yamaha V star 250 ? Swingarm Spools

Discussion in 'Cruisers' started by RickyRock, May 9, 2011.

  1. Thinking of getting a rear stand to help maintain chains etc easier for my Yamaha V Star 250.
Question (1): Where do I install the rear swingarm spools on the bike ?
Quesion (2): If I can, what size and type do I need ?
Please help. Many thanks in advance.

  2. Not really answering your question, but no one else seems to either...
When I did chain maintenance, I used to just put a jack under each side and crank them up a bit at a time on each side until I had the height I required. :)
Perhaps rather than trying for proper spools like on a race bike, maybe something with padded forks to simply grab the swing arms?
  3. I spoke to service staff at Yamaha, you're right no place for spools for v star 250. I guess I'll try your second suggestion. Thanx.
  4. The guys at MCAS Liverpool showed me one similar to this - $214.00+ I think.
Where did you get yours philmydang and does it work ok ?
  5. I bought mine online from a company I can't quite recall. Paid about 170 all up for it. Works a treat. Solid piece of kit, does both my vt600 and my brothers xvs650 without any trouble. I'll check to see if i can find out where i bought it from.
  6. thanks 4 the link
