xr 500 motard

Discussion in 'Modifications and Projects' started by xr500, Dec 10, 2008.

  1. Hi all, I'm building a xr 500 motard and i have fitted a set of rims off a honda vtr 250. The problem is that the front disc is hitting the forks at the moment, i was wanting to know if their is a disc off another bike that wiil fit on to these rims. The disc off these rims is offset 20mm outwards and i need a flat disc with no offset, i have already measured the calliper and their is still going to be plenty of room with the flat disc without it hitting the rim. Cheers

  2. If no one pipes up with a simple swap, it's a piece of piss to get a new center (with no offset) cut for your existing disc.
  3. I'm pretty sure the XR 400 sm disc is flat. No idea if it will fit the VTR rim though

  4. What is the best material to make a new centre out of??
  5. Pretty much anything. Mild steel and paint/powdercoat it, stainless, or the correct grade of aluminium. There's a few places around that specialise in these sorts of things (like http://www.aussiediscs.com.au/), so have a chat to them and see what they want to do for you and at what price.
