WRBs vs Mobile Speed Cameras in Vic

Discussion in 'Politics, Laws, Government & Insurance' at netrider.net.au started by Ktulu, Aug 25, 2008.

  1. Sorry to disappoint you if you read the thread title and were hoping a mobile speed camera operator had crashed into a WRB and been horribly decapitated in front of their wife and children and 22 month old Scottish Terrier named "Gruffy"...

VicPol's Mobile Speed Camera Policy and Operators Manual

    - Preference for WRB's.

    - "Armco road barriers" are listed on page 10 as a reflective object that may make a site unsuitable as a mobile speed camera zone.

    - Coincidence?
  2. Good find Ktulu. Thanks mate.
  3. Got to love their opening 'philosophy' paragraph:

"The philosophy behind the Mobile Speed Camera Program is based on well documented evidence of the relationship between speeding and road trauma."

This would be true if every accident involved people slamming into brick walls only at varying speeds with the same reaction times in a controlled environment, then speed would be the only determining factor. God I wish everything was so black and white like it is with speeding! Fvckwits.
