Where to get my digital Speedo Repaired

Discussion in 'Businesses and Service Providers' started by cheky, Oct 24, 2008.

  1. Hi Guys,
Mate of mine replaced his motor on his bike. Motor has receipts and only had 10k on the engine. His odometer shows 60k on it. Is it legal to have the odometer altered to reflect this and if so any suggestions who does it? Also would it be cheaper to get a second hand one or have this one repaired if it can be altered?

  2. If it's a digital sensor, it's probably taking that information from the ECU, in which case you'd need to swap ECUs to change it. Dunno what those are worth and dunno if I could be bothered with it. I don't know if it's illegal, but either way if the rest of the bike's done 70,000km a flashed odo isn't going to fool anyone.
