What's good riding music? Any from the 60's and 70's?

  1. I'm trying to find some good music to listen to whilst I'm riding.
My mp3 player is full of RnB Techno and some pop
I need more hard Rock and stuff along those lines.

What do you listen too and can you suggest a site where I can download some.

I need something that will complement a good bike ride.
    Any suggestions welcome.
  2. Try "Fuel"- Something like human
"36 Crazy Fists" -Bitterness the Star, or, A Snowcapped Romance
"Mudvayne"- The End of All Things To Come.

There's some starting points for you. Depends on how you want to ride, and the mood you want to develop. Go for some Thrash Metal if you wanna fang and can stand it.
  3. Yea I think thats what I want, thrash metal.
I think most of my music that I have is pre-2002
But, I'm open to all suggestions.
  4. dooooooood,
the only answer is System of a Down.

"pull the tapeworm outta your ar5e, HEY, pull the tapeworm outta your ar5e, HEY.......MY TAPEWORM TELLS ME WHAT TO DO!!!"

that song is called Needles and trust me, it HELPS you ride

albums include toxicity, mesmerize, and hypnotize and can get very thrashy!

"sitting in my room, with a needle in my hand, waiting for the tomb of some old dying maaaaaannnnn....."

now im gonna be singing it all day
  5. I use Limewire for downloads.

Checks for infected files and won't continue download if there is a virus.
  6. Iron Maiden, and Bruce D1ck1nson's solo stuff
  7. I prefer intake and header/exhaust noise, mixed with some gear whine. You can pick up their album anytime you start an engine

    Regards, Andrew.
  8. I know it's not necessarily what you're after (IE hard rock stuff) but you should try giving Drum'n'Bass a go...
Suggested artists :- Aphrodite, Urban Takeover
it's probably the most polar opposite from "Commercial" that you'd have come across (no it's not techno, no it's not house, yes it is funky, yes it is boomin').

Only forseeable problem is keeping yourself at or under the speed limit while listening to it

  10. Crazy Frog - Axel F
    Aqua - Barbie Girl

    (just kidding)

"Intake Roar and the Exhaust Wailers" does it for me.
  11. "Bloodwork" -by- 36 Crazyfists is a good song.

"Happy" -by- Mudvayne will be a good riding song.

    Other good riding songs:

    "Click Click Boom" -by- Saliva

    "Alive" -by- Disturbed

    "Linchpin" -by- Fear Factory

"Psycho Holiday" and "By Demon be Driven" and of course "Walk" -by- Pantera

"Fixation on the Darkness" -by- Killswitch Engage

"Waffle", "Licking Cream" and "Ugly" -by- Sevendust

"High" and "Storm" -by- Guano Apes

    "Egyptica" -by- Nocturnal Rights

"Creepy Green Light" -by- Type O Negative

"Flesh and the Power It Holds" -by- Death [this one's pretty thrash heavy... great intro, throat singing etc after that, not everyone's cup of tea].

Above songs have heavy driving beats and great, confidence inspiring, rhythm... IMO anyway.
  12. Ok depends on my mood, well dah :p

I love riding on a long road, sunny day, listening to some good 'old country, Slim, Lee or Casey does the job. :music:

Twisties, NO music I have enough of a time trying to stay on

But on my IPOD I have Chilli Peppers, ACDC, Iron Maiden, basically 1980's heavy metal or 90's grunge. And this my people is what i listen to on my commute. :demon:
  13. i like billy idol, prince, petr gabriel etc
  14. Tool - album is named Aenima. Get it, get it now.
  15. Foo Fighters does it for me
  16. lost my iPod, but my riding music on that was varied (to suit my mood) but mainly consisted of:

    Foo Fighters
    Matchbox 20
    Linkin Park
    A New Found Glory
    Rage Against the Machine
    Machine Gun Felatio
    Top Gun soundtrack :p
  17. I bought a new IPOD Video last week after dropping my Nano while riding ! :?

Somehow I got the entire Anthony Robbins motivational talk series (worth $300 apparently) as one of my IPOD albums. My brother in-law put it on as a joke, but i'm actually enjoying it. . . .

I feel so confident of myself, I CAN DO IT !!!!! :p
    hahahaha !

Good to listen to when stuck in peak hour traffic !

Its only annoying when I put it to overall random play. Like i'd be listening to Rogue Traders, Guns'n'roses, Foo Fighters, TopGun Soundtrack :p, 80s rock . . . . i'll be getting into the grove, then somewhere in between there is a 1min Anthony Robbins talk on how i can be what i want to be and that all I need is to reach into myself and believe !!! hahahahahaha !
  18. Hi 250 ninjas,
not sure what u define as thrash metal,
Some good recent and not so recent albums,

    Fear Factory - Transgression
    Fear Factory - Archetype
Corrosion of Conformity - In the Arms Of God,
Anthrax - we've come for you all,
    Disturbed - The Sickness
    Killing Joke - self titled.
    A bit older, 1999,
Static X - Wisconsin Death Trip
Monster Magnet - God Says No.

    All good IMHO.

  19. Good to see people with propper taste in music

    A few of my favs:

    Mudvayne - Just
    GNR - U could b mine
    Soil - Breaking me Down
    NIN - Ruiner
    Korn - Did my time
Fear Factory - Shock, Moment of Impact

    So many more :D
  20. I cant do anything remotely hard core whilst riding otherwise i just ennd up speeding way too much. So i go the more relaxing 80's stuff. Or on long trips i like to go with random comedy sets. It mixes it up a bit.
