What sort of brake fluid to use

Discussion in 'Technical and Troubleshooting Torque' started by jamie, Apr 17, 2006.

  1. Could any one tell me what sort of brake fluid to use in a vtr 2001 250.Cheers.And what sort coolant, can you use, say what you would run in your car.

  2. Castrol anti freeze anti boil is a good mix. As for brake fluid, the main vairable you look for is the dot requirement. Check the top cap of the brake resevoir, they useualy stamp on it what dot rating to use, then it is simply just a matter of acquiring the brake fluid with the dot rating on it. Caution, when dealing with brakes, fluid must be blead through the entire system. If you do not know how to do this, and I am one of those people... recoment you get a mechanic to do it.
