What Japanese brandnames mean in english

Discussion in 'General Motorcycling Discussion' started by jd, Aug 9, 2005.

  1. Found this site interesting:
Gives the symbols and english translations of the major Japanese manufacturers.
    In summary:
    Suzuki - Bell Tree
    Yamaha - Mountain Leaves
    Kawasaki - Cape of River
Honda - Essence of Rice  (or essence of things)

Think I know now why they stick with the Japanese names.

  2. Slightly OT, in Korean Samsung means Three Stars, and for those who remember, their old logo used to be three joined stars.
On a lighter note Komatsu means porch!!!
  3. That site should be compuslory viewing, it's SO funny.

Here's another one, slightly Of Topic also, but, since we like poking fun at the boys and their hotted up cages...

  4. Ahh riceboys and engrish, these are a few of my favorite things..
