What Is This Bike?

Discussion in 'Multimedia' started by grange, May 14, 2012.

  1. Any ideas as to the story behind this bike, maybe some of the older folk might have some idea, Hornet??

Found the pic on a webpage somewhere....

    Attached Files:

  2. Looks vaguely like something I've seen with a Rolls Royce Merlin aero engine. Cannot see enough detail to tell.
  3. Looks like someone has improved the weight and handling of a Hardly Dangerous!
  4. It's called "Roadog" and was built in 1965 by "Wild Bill" Gelbke.
The engine was a 2.4l, 4-cyl from a Chevy Nova II.
  5. Nitekreeper wins the prize. :)

  6. NK nailed it!

    He didn't split much
  7. Bit of a read about it here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roadog

With the intent of making it a cruising bike, Gelbke immediately took it on the road, covering over 20,000 miles the first year.

That is a serious effort in itself....
