What is reduced Effect

Discussion in 'General Motorcycling Discussion' started by damo03, Feb 13, 2009.

  1. Been looking at some Kawasaki gpx600r's and gpx750 and some specs say the "r" on gpx600r is "reduced effect". I'm wondering what this is?

Also if anyone has ridden both bikes and knows if the 750 is much better than the 600?

  2. Reduced effect simply refers to a version that was restricted in power output to meet Government regs in a particular market. The actual term is more than likely from a literal translation of Japanese.

And 750s are always better than 600s  .
