Website for checking if road is sealed

Discussion in 'Roads, Touring, Journeys, and Travel' started by Osiris, Nov 4, 2011.

  1. Does anyone know of a website that allows you to search reports of which roads are sealed or not? Google searches failed and there is no Street View available for the section of road I want to check.

  2. try nearmap.com.au
  3. Thanks... unfortunately it doesn't have the road I'm looking for on it.
  4. Perhaps if you tell us which road, someone may know?

  5. use the zoom on satellite view.......
  6. sat view can be a couple of years out of date..
  7. nearmap has the date, and you can actually cycle through the different dates.
  8. Ring the local Police station and ask the question.
  9. Buy a decent paper map.
  10. I know in QLD the racq maps are pretty good. Maybe your local motoring association can help.
  11. RACV maps in Vic used to be excellent; not sure about the most recent formats.

Otherwise HEMA do State, region and interest-based maps that are good quality. If you want a State map, don't buy their Handy map; buy the full thing. The Vic version is only a year or so old.
