WA police refused to issue fines.

  1. WA police refused to issue fines

Speeding drivers avoided penalties in Western Australia overnight, after police refused to issue fines as a part of their ongoing strike action.

It comes after negotiations with the state government over a new pay deal, reached a deadlock.

Premier Colin Barnett offered a 12.9 per cent pay increase yesterday, but later retracted the deal, saying he'd 'mixed up the numbers.'

The Police Union is calling for a 9.8 per cent rise.
