  2. Re: Black Dog Ride

If I weren't the other side of the country, I'd come. Depression/mental health in general is something that most people don't really understand, and can be extremely debilitating with quite long-lasting effects.

Good to hear from you OzYoda. Would love to have you join us at any time on the Ride to the Red Centre but I'll be coming from the opposite side of the country, Busselton WA, across to SA then up the middle. I'm sure there will be other riders coming from Sydney who you could hook up with for a while if you feel like a ride. As we get closer to the date I will encourage riders to communicate through my website or forums to arrange to rider groups. blackdog rider

  6. I'll see what bike I'm on closer to the time (a Suzuki Across is not so good for long distances). I'll certainly ride at least part of the way if there's a group travelling from Melbourne.

Anyway, I wish you the best, and hopefully will see you in September :).

  9. Angry words for Depression Awareness Ride

"Having dealt with depression most of my life and having made a decision years ago to be part of the solution not part of the problem as a basic philosophy to live my life by,..I am proud to be an ambassador to the Black Dog Ride and for any efforts to free sufferers from the grip of depression that the organisation makes in the future,..together we are the solution,..together we can beat this shadowy monster that stalks us,...join hands brother and sisters .,for together we are strong,..Angry Anderson,AM"

  10. And it's on again this year too. Registration has been open for a week or two now. I'd say it will fill up quickly. See the Black Dog Ride site for more info: http://www.blackdogride.com.au/

I went in 2010 and did a blog and three videos with my GoProHD if anyone is interested. It was a fantastic time and raised $80,000 for the Black Dog Institute in Sydney.

  11. Hey dazza, great to hear from you. You're right, registrations for the Black Dog Ride to the Red Centre are up to 100 already, that's just from the riders going all the way to Alice Springs but we'd also love to have other riders join in at the start of the Ride in each capital city. Visit the website for details http://www.blackdogride.com.au/view/home/
