VTR250 Oggy Knobbs - Apparently the instructions are wrong

Discussion in 'Modifications and Projects' started by wiinis, Jan 22, 2009.

  1. Just bought some Oggy Knobbs for my VTR250 and the instructions say that when installing them to tighten the engine mount bolt to 55Nm - http://img240.imageshack.us/img240/2517/oggylf9.png

I was looking through the Service Manual for the VTR250 and it says to tighten this bolt to 74Nm - http://img244.imageshack.us/img244/7322/boltse6.png

I sent a query off to Promoto Melbourne who make the Knobbs and they told me to follow the Service Manual and tighten to 74Nm.

It's a pretty significant difference so I thought I'd let you all know.

    Hi x.

    74Nm as the manual indicates.

I've just bought a set of Honda VTR250 Oggy Knobbs.

The instructions say to tighten the engine mounting bolt to 55Nm when installing them, but the Honda VTR250 Service Manual says this bolt should be tightened to 74Nm (screenshot attached).

    Which should I follow?

    Thanks, x
  2. they got it right for my cbr 600 rr 08 (the reccomended torque mached that in the service manual)
