VTR 1000 pipe on Honda Spada 250?

Discussion in 'Modifications and Projects' started by matthewjw, Aug 20, 2009.

  1. I am looking at getting a cheap twin pipe off a VTR 1000. If I get a metal flange, does anyone know if I will be able to cut and shut it one of the twin pipes onto the standard Spada exhaust?

  2. Anything is possible......

Is it a standard/original VTR1000 exhaust?, if so, it may be heavier and larger than the spada's original pipe.....
  3. Original can is bent / scratched up / dented. I have looked at ebay replacement but have found a VTR 1000 standard can (one of a twin) which I can get cheaply and looks like it would fit - I assume that if i can get the pipe sizes aligned through a metal flange - then it would work - is there anything else i need to be aware of with exhaust replacement?

  4. I don't think it would be a good idea. A single VTR1000 pipe is designed to flow twice as much gas as the Spada engine will produce. Sell the big pipe, buy an appropriate one.
