VT250/VTR250 engines

Discussion in 'Technical and Troubleshooting Torque' started by Drew, Aug 21, 2006.

  1. was looking at a bike on Friday with lordtb (Thanks Pete!!) and an interesting question came up.

would a VTR250 engine bolt straight into a SPADA?

    Anyone know??
  2. Good question.

I would assume so, but I wouldn't put it past Honda to change something to make it not possible.
  3. thats what i was thinking.

i know car manufacturers love moving bolt holes by under 5mm between models with what is the same engine. Old Corollas were great for that.
  4. The frames are completely different, and one is a six speed and one a five, so I'd be surprised if they have the exact same mounts.
  5. with a grinder a welder and a bit of thunking you can achieve most engine transplants, with a lot of the more modern bikes you may also have to graft the elecricals as well though.
