Victorian one lane bridges

Discussion in 'New Riders and Riding Tips' started by Guest, Apr 28, 2005.

  1. I guess eveyone (except my friend) knows this, but I've got to post something or people will think I disapearrd ...

A lot of one lane bridges in Victoria are made a long time ago and are made from big chunks of timber. To save money they only put the timber where the car tyre would normally go - in other words - Not down the centre of the bridge. So when you see a one lane bridge warning - slow down chose a tyre track and stick to it.

I went out last week with a friend, she tried to ride down the center of the bridge and of cause fell of, broke her wrist and spent three days in hospital and now has a three month wait before riding again!

    Take care out there.
