[VIC] Thompson Dam Mega Twisty Ride - Sun 27th August

Discussion in 'VIC' at netrider.net.au started by [FLUX], Aug 26, 2006.

  1. A rather late-notice ride. I was waiting to see what the weather was going to be like on Sunday, and it looks good. 8:30am ride-starts are also a bit of a killer, so here's an alternative ride for Sunday if anyone wants to come along. Will post to calendar is there's enough interest, but it may be too late by then anyway.

    Meet Time: 9:45am
Meet Location: Berwick Safeway Fuel+, (next to McDonalds) Clyde Road Berwick, Melways Ref: 111 C10
    Depart Time: 10am
    Ride Class: 4 (Experienced)

LOTS of twisties. No unsealed roads. Very minimal highways.

1st Leg: Meet Point to Moe for Lunch and Refuel (144kms)
Beaconsfield Upper, Pakenham, Nar Nar Goon, Longwarry, Jindivick, Noojee, Willow Grove, Moe

2nd Leg: Moe to Yarra Junction (Fuel and Drinks), via Thompsons Dam (179kms)
Yallourn North, Tyers, Rawson, Thompson Dam (stop for a squizz), Erica, Willow Grove, Noojee, Powelltown, Yarra Junction

(Then as time permits, and depending on group's enthusiasm)

3rd Leg: Spur Loop, ending at Healvesille (98kms)
Warburton, Reefton, Marysville, Healesville and ride-end.

3rd Leg: Yarra Junction to Rowville (79kms)
Yarra Junction, Gembrook, Pakenham Upper, C0ckatoo, Emerald, Wellington Rd to Rowville BP and ride-end.

Ride should be finished by around 4:30-5:00pm.

    Sound good? See you there.

  2. Any one? No one?

C'mon. What's better? Soul-searching for the meaning of relationships in an on-line forum, or just getting out and sharing some good roads together?
  3. Sounds good mate.

I can't confirm till later tonight (got relo's visiting) but am pretty keen to come along.
  4. A 10am start just around the corner from home, sounds alot better then a 8.30am start miles away..

Will see you in the morning Cathar..
  5.

Looking forwards to seeing both of you there, and perhaps a few more. It'll be a good day, covering some excellent roads not often covered by the usual spur day-trips.
  6. Well, it's another fine day in Victoria.

Hoping to see some more people at the meet point.

    Have a good one!
  7. Hi Cathar. Did the ride go ahead? If so how was it? Would have loved to attend this one. Don't know how far behind the 2 fiddy would have been. :)
