[VIC] Heidelberg - Kinglake Road (C746) Signage change

Discussion in 'Hazardous Road Condition Reports' started by sah, Oct 11, 2010.

  1. Afternoon all,

Sometime between the weekend before last and today the speed limit through Kinglake was dropped to 60 km/h and all the signs changed. There also seem to be several new automated warning signs (the ones with the radar that say 'Slow Down' when you pass.)

I realise that it can be a dangerous road but the barriers actually seem better since the fires. This new limit is taking the piss.
  2. The road has narrowed in places and has frequent land slips so they've probably lowered the limit to keep speeds down along there.
  3. From my memory, its been 60 kph since the road re-opened following the '09 bushfires, and the automated warning signs have been there a while.
  4. +1 Done on reopening of the road after the bushfires last year.

Have seen a cop parked in the cutting on the straight and on one of the corners where there's room for a couple of cars to park.
