Anyone with an interest in motorcycling will want to attend this year's Ride for Life, an annual free event organised by Honda Australia Rider Training (HART) in Tullamarine and Roadsafe Victoria. The event offers a multitude of information and services for the two-wheeled fan.

Whether you are a serious road rider, scooter commuter, racing nut, dirt bike devotee or a true novice to riding, Ride for Life is a unique event that caters to people of all ages and interests.

Over 2000 people attended in 2005 with numbers continuing to grow each year as new attractions are added.

As well as partnering with Roadsafe Victoria, participants this year will include Joe Rocket, McLeod Accessories (importers of M2R, No Fear, DriRider and much more); Draggin Jeans, Gas Imports/Michelin, TAC, and the No Fear Honda and Joe Rocket Honda Race Teams.

Konica Minolta Printing Solutions will also be on hand with their mobile imaging centre to provide personalised photos alongside the Championship winning Joe Rocket Honda CBR1000RR.

For those who want to learn a bit more about their machines, Honda will provide Motorcycle Service Department workshops as well as a merchandise stand where enthusiasts can purchase everything from Honda race team jackets to stubby holders.

Exciting news for this year is that one lucky participant will walk away with a Today50 Scooter, Australia's number one seller in its class. Anyone who participates in the activities on the weekend will go into the draw to win this amazing little bike valued at around $2,000.

Additional major prizes will include Joe Rocket leathers, Draggin Jeans to the value of $250, a DriRider jacket and a set of Michelin tyres.

"We are aiming to make this both a scooter and motorcycle focused weekend and people are free to come along at any time regardless of where their interests lie," said HART's National Manager, Mark Collins.

"Primarily this weekend is about motorcycle safety," he continued. "That means we will be offering a lot of information, discounts and opportunities for everything and anything to do with road safety."

Riders who show up in appropriate riding safety gear will also be eligible to win free HART training.

In addition, Motorcycle clubs are being encouraged to come along en masse, and those who do will be eligible for prizes on the day including a prize for furthest distance travelled and most members attending.

Attendees will also have the chance to try out HART's new Riding Simulator which is the only equipment of its kind in the country and is considered one of the best techniques for building hazard perception skills.

"We will have a safety advisor on hand to offer advice and information for beginners as well as experienced riders," Mark explained.

Additional features and displays to include:

    · Heavily discounted motorcycle and scooter safety gear and clothing

    · Learners Permit and Licence Test Demonstrations

    · Maintenance and riding demonstrations

  17. Lets do a dance and chant for the rain to go away on Saturday. I bet Honda wont let us take their shiny beasties out in the rain. :(
  18. I don't see why they wouldn't unless it was really coming down.

Are you going both days to maximise your test rides (last year it was limited 2/person/day)?
