[VIC] Gippsland, Fernbank - Dargo & through to Mt Hotham

Discussion in 'Roads, Touring, Journeys, and Travel' started by pvda, Jun 15, 2005.

  1. It's windy and sealed from Fernbank to a fair way past Dargo and then something like 80km of gravel to Mt Hotham.

Great in a car, would be interesting on a bike in the gravel section.

Oh and the Dargo - Hotham section is closed over winter due to several metres of Snow covering it.

I've done it driving an empty Hiace van  now that was scarey.

Especially considering I was passing several 4wd's as I zipped along the gravel section at a great rate of knots :p
  2. Done the Dargo to Hotham road on a bike ... no fun at all and wouldn't do it again unless I REALLY had to, or I was on a chookie.

Some extremely fantastic views to be had along the road though.
