NR Cyclists, come join in a social ride from Melbourne's CBD, to Blackrock and back up to the St Kilda Belgium Beer Cafe for nosh and beer, or other beveridge of choice. :)

The weather forecast is favourable for Saturday 23rd, so, meet at the FED SQUARE steps facing Flinders street station by 9:45 AM. There will be a rider briefing and some group cycling etiquette will be discussed. We'll get the legs rolling at 10am SHARP.

The route is straight forward, taking us South down St Kilda road, then through the junction to cut through St Kilda down Fitroy street, then turning left onto Beach road to join the cycling throng to Black rock.

Average speed will be kept to about 30km/h or less, which is very doable from inside a group getting the benefit of a draft.

The total ride length from Fed square to lunch at the St Kilda BBC is about 37km. Black rock will include a regroup break and pause. I'm allowing two hours for the ride... the length of your lunch is up to you!

This is a social ride, so we wont be leaving anyone behind - there may be spontaneous regroups if needed, but you should be at least capable of the distance and average speed and have a fair cycling road sense - the junction intersection can be tricky.

This may become a regular event, so even if you can't make it this time, but would like to in the future, post up!
