Very N00b Question - parking in syd

Discussion in 'Politics, Laws, Government & Insurance' started by ralph, Oct 19, 2009.

  1. Hey all,

Feel stupid for asking this but here goes. (I am in NSW)

Went for a ride into the city the other day and needed to park the bike. Only spot i could get was a ticketed parking on the street.

As a bike, do we have to pay for parking?? if so where does one put the ticket?? what about timed metres, do we pay that??

anyways any help on this one would be great.

  2. Someone will tell you to use the search function in a minute...

In the CBD you dont need to pay the meter or get a ticket, you just need to stick to the max time limits you can get the meter/ticket for.
  3. Trinny is correct. in green spots no paying for the time displayed. rangers do chalk tyres so they obviously check how long you are there. just make sure you check the sign, some spots are red ( loading zone or others during the day ) then are green at night etc....

there are also untimed and timed designated motorcycle spots also free. see this big ass sydney council link giving locations etc.....they fill up early! :p
