Useful Rain Radar

Discussion in 'General Motorcycling Discussion' started by p_o_s, Nov 16, 2005.

  1. Naah, that's useless.

If you're going for a ride, you need this one http://mirror.bom.gov.au/products/IDR032.loop.shtml

But if you lived somewhere decent, this one
    or this one
would be all you need. :p
  2. I just rode through that little light blue patch over Wollongong in frame 3

I had the jacket zip vents open aswell so i had to pull over and close them!!
  3. The radar is great - registered uses get a 7 frame loop which gives a better idea of direction and change in strength, but thats about it. I use it all the time before I head off to regonal Victoria - and the infrared loops give you an idea if it's going to be sunny or overcast as well!

  4. Been looking at it for a few years since they put it up.
I like the adelaide one which now goes down to 64 kms.
It's great for planning your trips between rain showers.
