Uh oh, i kinda broke my bike

Discussion in 'Bling and Appearance' started by Owen, Nov 25, 2006.

  1. Hey all, I was performing and oil change on my new gs500, as well as the oil filter, as i was taking the nuts off the engine case cover to get the oil filter out, one of the bolts snapped! So i continued the oil change but now i can only put the cover back on with 2 of the 3 bolts and now it leaks oil! Has anyone else had this happen on their gs500 or similar bike? If so, is the bolt just a rivet that i can pull out and replace or does it have to be drilled out by a proffesional?

    Appreciate any help

  2. Owen, can you use a drill on the snapped bolt,,,
if you can,,you can use something called an ezyout drill bit,,,
first drill a pilot hole, then screw in the ezyout in a anticlockwise direction and it should free it,,
    Good luck
  3. nice one owen :p
