Tyre selection advice

Discussion in 'Bling and Appearance' at netrider.net.au started by Fabes, Jun 3, 2007.

  1. Looking for some advice on tyre selection.

I am riding a Honda NT650 Bros. The bike is mainly used for weekend rides with fellow netriders, mainly twisties very little highway runs.

I am experiencing high frequency vibrations through the handle bars, leaving my hands numb after a 300-400k ride. Close inspection of front tyre tred reveals the trailing edge lower then the leading edge, with minor separation deep in the main tred. So I am looking for a suitable replacement for the front tyre.

    The current tyre setup is
    Front Bridgestone Battlax BT39F 110/80-17 57H
    Rear Metzeler ME550 150/70-17 M/C 69V

Any suggestions on bred and type of tyre for front?

  2. Metzler m3s
  3. These are not available in my size would have to change to 110/70-17.

What effect would this have on the ride?
  4. for future reference it's called 'cupping' and can be caused by all sorts of things, but generally keep an eye on your tyre pressure to reduce its incidence.
