Trip to Tasmania.

Discussion in 'Riding Gear and Bike Accessories/Parts' started by plonkey, Nov 11, 2008.

  1. I am contemplating a nike trip to Tasmania mid to late February. for about 2 or 3 weeks.
I am a little uncertain about what type of Jacket I should take.
Riding from North Qld so leather is going to cook me on the way dowwn but what sort of weather shoiuld I expect on the aple isle?

Riding 2 up so there isnt any room for miultiple jackets.

    any advice appreciated.

  2. It can turn wet and cool at any time, but in between it will be warm and occasionally almost hot. Highs around 30 possible, lows... 10ish? You'll need ventilation sometimes (especially for the trip south), but you're going to need some kind of liner or oversuit for the potential cooler days or higher altitude.

Depends on what kind of riding you'll be doing, but I'd probably be going for some kind of cordura kit, probably not with the waterproofing sewn in.
Ventilated leathers with an additional rainsuit would also work.
