Transmission on Yamaha Aerox 100?

Discussion in 'Scooters' started by TimTam, Dec 17, 2006.

  1. G'day all,

anyone know what transmission is on those old Max biaggi replica Aerox 100?

some sites states its a 5sp manual and some automatic? so just want to know if its legal for a Learner in NSW without doing the MOST.
  2. They are "automatic" with a CVT. Definitely not a 5 speed manual gear box.

Can't answer the NSW question, I'm not from there.
  3. The only scooters you can ride on a car licence are 50cc and speed restricted so the 100cc scoot you mention wouldn't be allowed.
  4. He is asking about NSW licencing.
In NSW you can get a conditional licence for automatic scooters up to 125cc. All other scooters require a full motorcycle licence.

The 50cc exemption applies to SA,QLD & WA only.
  5. thanks

    cheers guys,

    Yes in NSW.

Lastly if after 12 months of getting my P's... it becomes a full licence. Does this mean i can ride any motorbike? eg Yamaha R1?
Or am i still restricted to a scooter (ie any cc)?

    thanks for the replies
