"Traffic camera testing ahead"??

Discussion in 'Politics, Laws, Government & Insurance' at netrider.net.au started by Bogus69, Aug 18, 2005.

  1. On the way home yesterday or the day b4 (I think I'm starting to get old) on Pascoevale RD there was a mobile camera on the side of the road. Cars were flashing their lights etc.

A few meters in front of the camera was a sign saying "Traffic camera testing ahead". Now this doesn't make sense to me. If normal cameras aren't signposted then why advertise "testing"?

Does anyone know what the story is?
can you receive a fine from a camera while it is testing? (not that I was speeding, you understand.) :)

  2. Maybe they were telling you to speed so they can test the camera's.
