NSW Tourist Rd Southern Highlands

Discussion in 'Hazardous Road Condition Reports' started by icemaker, Jul 22, 2016.

  1. Very nearly came a cropper is an epic way along this stretch this morning.

There are approx. a dozen 5 - 6 metre sections of road that have been re-sealed with that god forsaken spray seal shite so there is plenty of aggregate around to kick your rear tyre sideways.
Worst bit about it is that nearly all the work is done on bends and only 3 or so sections have warning signs, and thats after you've hit the first 2 or 3 sections.

If heading west bound be particularly careful. The first section I hit was on a blind corner, had no signs and probably had an inch or so of loose gravel outside the wheel tracks. Rear wheel kicked sideways, flat track style, arse puckered to avoid me making a huge mess and I managed to hang on.

  2. Glad you made it safely through.

  3. These are parts of that road that need serious work, but not signposting it is criminal...
