torque settings, head gasket -vt250f

Discussion in 'Technical and Troubleshooting Torque' started by Blitzkrieg Films, Jul 24, 2005.

  1. Hey guys, I'm a newbie around here...seems like a cool forum. Anyway I was hoping to find someone who knows/has the torque settings for the head bolts on a Honda vt250f (84). I would presume most of the models around it are similar but if someone has a manual or a way of finding them out for me I would be most thankful. I'm hoping to get the new gasket tomorrow... but hoping isn't getting.

    Thanks guys,

  6. Ummmm....8-12nm on headbolts?
    Rocker-cover bolts more likely.

Headbolts are around 40-50nm on most 4-strokes !!
  7.
With a bit thought, I'm sure your right too! 8-[
I'll have another look at the proper page in the w/shop manual tonight.
  8. Found a Spada VT250L manual, states 36nm for the headbolts.
10nm for the rocker cover bolts.
  9. OK, correct page this time....
