  1. I'm looking for suggestions as to the tools that are handy to have at home for DIY maintenance on my bike...

  2. good socket and spanner set 8-19mm metric is the most useful range
    oil filter remover tool
    quality screwdrivers
    allen key set
    oil drip tray
    brake bleeder

can buy non branded tools if they are stamped "chrome vanadium" or "cr-v"
stamped... not embossed or engraved! it doesn't have to be a name brand as long as it's cr-v

don't bother with fandangled rachet spanners and what not
they will be useless and won't fit into most tight spots
  3. Socket set,
    Rubber mallet
    Torque wrench
Spanners, right size fror axle nut.
    Screw drivers
    Old clothes/ cloth
  4. Add to the above, front and rear stands, or if bike has centrestand, and trolley jack
  5. get 'snap on' spanners
  6. glasses and a torch, to find that damn bolt that f**kd off into a dark corner somewhere
