  1. Guys...I need some guideance.

My ECU has gone bang...(CDI or main computer...whatever it's called). Anyway...I have been researching this on the net, and have found that it is not overly uncommon for the c41 code to lead to an ecu problem.

I have been quoted $1645 for a new one from Suzuki...which is probably a bit more than I had budgeted for

Can anyone direct me to a cheaper option? Is it worth hunting one from a wreck? If anyone has any suggestions on helping with this issue would be much appreciated.
  2. Wow! That's a chunk of cash! I'd make some enquiries around automotive parts places, there are individuals/companies popping up now that specialise in repairing computers. At worst it's a chip that needs replacing, but usually transistors, diodes or capacitors.
I'd also get a second opinion, many mechanics just say"it's teh computer" replace it and find it was a $90 sensor......of course, if a dealer told you this, disregard above comment.
I sure wouldnt buy a new one!

    Regards, Andrew.
  3. The good 'ol phrase "get a second opinion" springs to mind....
