Throttle grip wont roll back on its own?

Discussion in 'Maintenance and Servicing' started by Cyeo, Oct 9, 2015.

  1. Hey my throttle wont roll back on its own (like if i roll it fully open it'll stay there and wont move back) and I'm wondering whats up with it... anyone got any ideas?

    My bikes a '07 CBR125R
  2. carby throttle shaft stuck, or cable gummy and stuck, or throttle tube (under grip) gummy and stuck.
or the return cable is broke? or the ends have slipped off

    take some pics
  3. Is it possible to close the throttle by twisting the handle backwards or does it stay open regardless?
  4. Manual cruise control lol

  5. I had a bike way back that someone had fitted an all rubber hand grip. It had slid up the handle so far that the grip was rubbing against the block holding the cable and switches. The return springs were not strong enough to overcome the extra friction. That stumped me for a little while.
  6. It could be any number of things from the throttle all the way back to the carbie(?). Start by unscrewing the switchblock and having a look.
