Thoughts 2008 Honda Transalp

Discussion in 'Bike Reviews, Questions and Suggestions' at netrider.net.au started by pro-pilot, May 12, 2008.

  1. Wondering who may have experience with the current model and how good / bad this particular beast performs.
This new re-design looks promising, but would need to factor it against the current model to understand where its comming from.

I believe that the 600cc model is LAMS compliant, where as obviously this one is not.

  2. Have ridden with a few owners of Trans Alps. They love 'em.

This model just becomes another Strom clone - no advice regarding suspension travel except this gem that shows where they aim to market this.

"For this new generation, the Transalp's high speed touring capabilities have been further enhanced with a new smaller-diameter 19" front wheel and a wider new radial rear tyre that combine to offer responsive handling over a wide assortment of road surfaces. "

IMHO the last Trans Alp could be taken further off road by an average rider than this model, but it would still make a competent all roads tourer.
