Thieves steal bike from fatal crash victim

Discussion in 'General Motorcycling Discussion' at netrider.net.au started by BlueRex, May 27, 2009.

  1. This is from The Age

"A man killed in a motorcycle crash in Perth's north yesterday had his bike stolen by passers-by as he lay dying on the road.

The 37-year-old later died from his injuries after he was taken to Joondalup Health Campus by ambulance.

Inspector Trevor Davis said the rider crashed his bike at Clarkson in outer northern Perth after he collided with a traffic island in the middle of the road about 3.10pm.

Before police arrived at the scene, Inspector Davis said "unknown persons" attended the crash scene in a ute and removed the bike.

Major Crash Investigations did not wish to comment further on the matter."

WTF is this world coming to?

  4. People can be such greedy SOBs. A bike "abandoned" in the middle of the road, with the keys in the ignition? Disturbing though the thought may be, I'd be surprised if someone didn't try to take it.

Condolences to the man's family and friends.

  6. I've heard of injured/unsconscious people being attended to and then their wallet vanishes mysteriously.

    Unbelievable :(

  7. The theft alone is a c@nts act.

But to leave someone dying on the road behind at the scene is inexcusable.

  8. SCUM.

I wish them a slow painful death - they don't deserve anything else.

  9. That is truly disgusting...

It's amazing what people are capable of when wanting to steal something.
Reminds me of when my Virago was stolen from UNDER me in Melbourne's CBD.

I was waiting at a red light (opposite Flinders Street station), when all of a sudden I was yanked off my bike from the back and thrown to the ground.
Two guys started laying into me, kicking me...

I screamed "Just take the bike!"
One says to the other "Man, it's a girl! Stop it!"

Then they both get on Virago and take off.
I recovered the bike the next day in North Fitzroy.
    All for a joy-ride...

Surely, they woulda targeted a better bike than a Virago for that kind of fun??
What IS the world coming to???

RIP - that rider in Perth... :(

  13. Perfect solution for anyone involved in such a gutless act :

Bury them in the ground wiith only head protruding..then have one and sundry hurl bowling balls at the f***wit ! We'll see then who has the last laugh !
My blood boils with this type of behaviour.
    R.I.P.

  14. lets just hope the bike has a small electrical and fuel issue now and blows the f_ckers apart..
if you were there when it happened you'd just belt the crap out of them.
    RIP
