The Laverda V6

Discussion in 'Bike Reviews, Questions and Suggestions' started by rc36, Aug 28, 2005.

  1. With all the talk about multi-cylinder bikes, here's some info on the Laverda V6 Endurance Bike, built in the late 1970's and only raced once, at Le Mans for the Bol D 'Or in 1978

Gotta admire that Italian ingenuity, eh?

I wonder if Honda had a long look at this when considering design parameters for their ST 1100 tourer?

  2. Interesting bike but what's with the headlights, reminds me of this ->
  3. Well, the Bol D 'Or was a 24 hour race at Le Mans in France so lighting needed to be as good as you could get it. My guess is that those driving lights (they look like Cibie Oscars) would have been the best that you could get at that time.

In these days of ultra-small lights and efficient streamlining, it does look funny, I'll grant you.
