The future to spare parts and custom fairings!

Discussion in 'The Pub' started by Archaeon, Feb 7, 2012.

  1. Sourced from 3D Printing. This rapidly developing technology will revolutionize the way in which spare parts and general consumables will be made.

On larger scales, such technology can be applied to construction of all sorts. The possibilities could be endless. Imagine being able to rapidly deploy temporary housing facilities over a course of a few days rather then weeks or months... A replacement panel in a matter of hours rather than days or weeks.. a bolt or screw in minutes! A new custom frame overnight!

    Exciting times!

  2. In case the link doesn't work
  3. I'm hugely interested in 3-D printing as a means of making casting patterns. Patterns that would once have taken a skilled tradesman days to turn out would be dead simple to knock up in an hour or two in CAD and then leave the printer to take care of the rest.
  4. I want one... :woot:
