Test rode an R1200ST and an HP2 Enduro last night.

  1. I test rode an R1200ST and an HP2 Enduro at the BMW club of WA last night.

A few comments. The HP2 is HUGE, you need a ladder to get on board. I'm 5'8" and I needed to lean the bike quite markedly to get one foot on the ground. The HP2 does have one neat idea I have never seen before, a built-in spirit level to set up the suspension. Having been talked through the proceedure, I believe any bike with fully adjustable suspension should have one. I didn't like the amount of plastic in the HP2, although I suspect on an enduro it's going to get pretty beaten up anyway if you use it as intended.

For a Boxer the R1200ST is quick....bloody quick, I want one and I want it NOW. (It looks cool too).
