Tar removal

Discussion in 'Bling and Appearance' at netrider.net.au started by Mouth, May 1, 2005.

  1. What are people using to remove road Tar from their plastic and metal?

  2. Desiel fuel, dilutes tar, funny really as desiel is used to make the stuff. (Tar that is) :p
  3.  Top
  4. No kiddin? No adverse affect on paints at all?

I'm using some of that Bug & Tar Remover crap - looks like polish, goes like polish, but actually seems to get the tar off, with a little elbow grease. Might be Polyglaze, but I'd have to check when I get home.
  5. lots use tar and bug remover
I just use plain old car polish..gets the tar off no worries
and the ol' girl gets a wax job at the same time :p
  6. Nup, no issue over 8 years, 3 bikes and 3 cars
  7. On bare metal, Citrus solvent and 0000 steel wool.
  8. Eucalyptus oil!

    or Kero

  9. I use engine degreaser if that is all I have on hand and it works a treat and hasn't stuffed the paint.
