  1. ive heard this is a place in italy, just wondering if anyone has seen it or actually knows where in italy (if in italy) it is?

  2. I may be wrong but I got an idea that bit of road was in the original version of "The Italian Job" with Michael Caine and the Mini Coopers???

Am sure I've seen it before ..... or dreamt about it or sumfink
  3. One word:

    *falls to ground dribbling*
  4. probly only car that would fit on it would be a mini
    so maybe
  5. that's four words
  6. Stuff this! I'm going to ITALY!!!!!!!!!
  7. I've seen the picture before but I can't think where......But I've got this niggling though of this years Tour De France for some reason. but who knows......
  8. ah ha... but i didnt actually say anything... i WAS going to say one word, but i fell to the ground dribbling...
  9. I think in the links directory there is a website of a couple who did a bike tour of europe and they went down that road,
  10. Netrider's own legendary Pete (aka Glitch1) has an almost identical photo of that road when he and his better half did a European Alps trip in 2001. Refer http://www.members.optusnet.com.au/mock1/Europe2001/Part_2/page9.html for the pic and a full report of his trip. It's an excellent read :)

If you'd like to hear about the trip straight from the horses mouth, I'm sure he'll tell you around the beer and bbq one night on our GOR trip this weekend. Refer https://netrider.net.au/forums/viewtopic.php?t=3127. Anyone wanting to come along for the ride is as it says more than welcome.

  11. It's the Eastern ramp of the Stilfser Joch (Passo di Stelvio, 2700m at the saddle, high point) in Northern Italy. Within about 50km as the crow flies (spreading into Austria/Switzerland as well) , there are about 60 other roads like it, all linked by more good stuff. The scenery is breathtaking.
6 weeks Sept/Oct 2007 are in the prepping stages right now, group of 9 confirmed at this stage.
  12. no one likes a show off [-(
    lucky bugger
can u make it a group of 10?

  13. 8 was the supposed max. number since we've got a limited number of foreign-squawkers. I do expect one or the other to drop out over the next 3 years, though...
If you're serious, contact via email for details.
    Some base-figures here:
    38 days on the road
    4 days flying total
Cost A$12k/head at todays money, incl. everything.
Hire bikes all BMW in/out Milano/Italy.
This is NOT an L/P tour, count on ~8000km, out of which 75% will be like the pic posted.
    7 countries
European Alps only, nothing else. No cities/no factory tours.

  14. faaark if i had 12gs (and experience on a road bike) id be there
    without a doubt
  15. well....there's still 3 years to go :)
  16. been there done that, man what a road, there are others that are as mad, you should try the french alps, same type of road but is almost 2x longer, or the black forrest ride in s/w germany, now that is fun, but most of europes smaller roads ar verry twisty anyway.
  17. holy shit!!! what a road!!!
prob will be faster by feet :D :D
  18. More o the same

Try this, its more of the same with sumb*tchin roads, aplenty, found it when I was in Austria doing a ski season few years back,All I could think was how good these roads would be once the snow melted.
