tail bags or saddle bags

Discussion in 'Riding Gear and Bike Accessories/Parts' started by tezzajo, Sep 3, 2005.

  1. i am looking to get some luggage for my bike. been to all the shops and been looking online. found a few likely candidates. just cannot seem to decide between getting a tail bag or saddle bags. saw a decent size gearsack tailbag for around $130. also saw a rather simple saddlebags for $89.

one of the things is that my bike any shocks on the side which would then rub against the saddlebags. is that going to be a serious problem? any suggestions?
  2. That rubbing could wear a hole eventually. Could you devise a method to move them laterally and off your shocks? It would be good if you could carry the bulk of your weight between the axles to minimize the effect on handling. Well, that's the theory with motorbikes.
